LAST EDITED ON Oct-28-07 AT 11:17 PM (PDT) by toddpw (admin) Hello all! I humbly and greatly apologize to all who were interested in purchasing a table for Artists Market at Pacific Media Expo 2007 and have not received a response. First, the email account for Artists Market has been inundated with spam, so it's difficult to ascertain the legitimate ones. And secondly, we were trying to secure a place for AM, but we had to get approval from both the Hilton Hotel and the Fire Marshal, which is still being reviewed. The location is the Second Floor's mezzanine and walkways overlooking the Main Lobby of the hotel. The hotel has tentatively okay'd the mezzanine, but not the walkways, all of which requires removing the furniture. I am opening registration for Artists Market, but space is limited. For now, AM Registration is on a first-register-first-serve basis. Some of you who were involved in last year's Artists Market are probably wondering why AM is not in the same location, the Lower Lobby area. The reason is because this year's Exhibit Hall is not in the Lower Level, but on the main floor next to the Concert Room. Last year, because Exhibit Hall occupied the Plaza Ballroom, the hotel allowed Artists Market to use the area in front of the ballroom without charge. However, due to the expense of renting the Plaza Ballroom, the Exhibit Hall was forced to move to a smaller but more accessible location. And thus, the Lower Lobby is not available as a location for Artists Market without renting the area, for which we would have to charge a much higher price to cover the cost. We want the artists to be able to afford a space. To register for Artists Market, follow this link: http://pacificmediaexpo.com/reg/pmx2007/artists-form.html As I mentioned before, this is a first-register-first-serve basis. Please, bear in mind that if the hotel or Fire Marshal reject the location, we would have no choice but to close Artists Market for this year. However, there are strong indications that that won't happen, though it may be a small one. Artists Market Rules: (Last Update: October 23, 2007) * Artists Market space is reserved for the duration of Pacific Media Expo 2007. * Artists Market fee is $10 per half table (up to 2 chairs), or $20 per full table (up to 4 chairs). (A half-table is approximately 2.5 feet by 3 feet; a full table is about 2.5 feet by 6 feet. Table dimensions are subject to change due to table availability with the event facility. Please confirm table dimensions with us if this is important to you.) Fee is non-refundable. * Each person operating a table in the Artists Market must also purchase a paid Full Pass for Pacific Media Expo 2007. Your membership number is required upon registering for Artists Market. * Each person is allowed to purchase up to one full table. Groups may receive special consideration, at our discretion and space availability. * You must own, or have permission to use, the rights of any creative work shown or sold. For creative work owned by someone else, including but not restricted to fan art and cover songs, customers should be notified in some way, during or before, the point of sale that such work is not of the selling artists' original creative endeavor. * Items for sale should be the result of the artist's own creative endeavor. This includes originals, copies, reprints, and licensed merchandise. Selling a significant fraction of merchandise not created directly by the registered artist is not allowed. * Artists must provide a valid California Seller's Permit number if there is intent to sell. You may contact the California State Board of Equalization at (800) 400-7115 or via their website at http://www.boe.ca.gov for additional information. Unauthorized selling of items without this permit will result in the removal of the items and/or the artist from the premises. A copy of the Seller's Permit is required. If you do not intend to sell, a "Letter of Intent Not To Sell" must be submitted to us. * Pacific Media Expo reserves the right to remove any item or artist in violation of these rules. * Pacific Media Expo is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged property. * Decisions of the event staff regarding these rules and any policies are final. Again, I wholly apologize for the long, long, long delay and response and hope to meet each and every one of you for this year's Artists Market. See you at PMX 2007! Regards,
