I dont think the con itself has too much control over this issue, but the concept of jpophouse charging to see the panel for PLC, photo ops, in addition to the normal concert and con fees is a bit too much. Not only that, but I hear they are charging people for autographs? I mean c'mon, its an autograph!

Evidently its not common knowledge, but charging fans for photos and autographs is terribly bad PR...

I suggest that people need to stop being so greedy.

And if anyone wants to come on the defense of jpophouse with the issues of how expensive it is to bring a musician from Japan over, save it; I know exactly how much it costs. Besides, doesnt Jpophouse have enough extra funding with how they sell bootlegs at higher prices than normal cd's?

I totally agree with all of that. I wish they would do what they did for the Duel Jewel and BLOOD shows at AX. It was soooo fun. After they performed they were just sitting around in the room where they played signing autographs and talking to ppl. I understand that PLC is wwwayy bigger than Duel Jewel and BLOOD , but still they are going a bit overboard with the charging for everything. And i still havent managed to figure out if theres going to be seats or if its just a big open area where ppl stand. I dont want to buy vip tickets that are worthless... They only thing i can say in defense of Jpophouse is that mabey its not all their idea to charge for everything but that PLC or their label also have somthing to do with it. Anyways if anyone knows whats up with seating at the PLC shows please say somthing about it somwhere on the boards.

I don't think this problem/issue will be solved until PMX gets bigger and better. Once PMX has some years under its belt with more leverage agains the record companies, I bet the lable companies would NOT charge this much in addition to the entrance fees. *cross my fingers*

The panels are open to the public and there won't be any charging for them.

The concert is free unless you want to have the best seats. For that, I think it's reasonable to charge, especially given the costs of the venue and the equipment needed for the concerts.

My understanding is that there will be no autograph sessions. They didn't want to wear out their hands.

Thanks,

Mike

Well Mike, I dont think SS is charging, but I'm pretty sure PLC is. At least I thought they were.

And since you skipped Kuroyume's question, I'll answer it.

There are seats, but the front isnt seated, its the floor where people stand and dance and what not.

And another question Mike, you say that the best seats have a price, are those the 'front' seats, or the 'seats' on the floor where people stand?

I'm just a bit confused right now.

If the map is on the website, then why werent you aware that there is a standing area up front, Mike?

I think either A) staff is spreading around half-truths about the event or B) you dont know everything you're supposed too.

And the map isnt loading for me. Meh.

I wasn't aware that there is a standing area up front because we didn't create a standing area up front.

However, we are doing some last minute negotiations with the bands to see if we need to scale the concert to a more appropriate size. We don't seem to be getting a huge wave of fans and perhaps the several thousand person venue is not the best room to host the concerts.

Yes the layout is on the convention center's website, but that wasn't what I was asking for. The arena is laid out like any other sports arena in the country (lots of seats surrounding a big floor in the middle). So where will the stage be? It pretty much has to be 1) pushed back against the far wall of the arena or 2) in the very center of the arena (think of the set up at a wrestling event)

So which are the concerts at PMX?

Thanks but again, that wasnt' the question. The question was is the venue "in the round" meaning is the stage in the middle and surrounded by all of the seats.

According to JPophouse's website, the VIP seating is numbered. Why would you have seat numbers for no seats? Perhaps, Winter, you should check before you answered.

Again, it is stated on JPophouse's website: http://www.jpophouse.com

Thats news to me, that they have it on the site.

But this entire thing has been screwy. I'm working with the concert staff, and have been getting conflicting reports from verious members, and the staff boards have been saying one thing, and this place is saying another thing, jpophouse saying this, Mike saying that, the contradictions were getting out of control.

It seems that things are clearly laid out now, so that clears up most of my confusion. But not all of it.

On top of working staff, I work with Secret Secret, and havent even gotten a clear schedule for PMX regarding our duties yet. Everytime I hear of our schedule, I hear that it has been changed, and that isnt helping with my confusion. I was told that we had our schedule up on the concert page of the website, but when I looked, it wasnt there. Am I not navigating the site correctly or something?

What I really want to know is where are there so many contradictions made by people working this, and why are so many other issues so *hush hush*?

And whats the word about jpophouse working any backstage, or VIP stuffs with PLC? Will they work it the same way they did with Sid at Acen?

If so, then thats a shame.

Hmmm. all that and still i have no real answer to my question. Does anyone know for sure if there is an area to stand up front or where exactly u get put if u have vip tickets. I still havent bought vip tickets becuase i havent figured out if i need them. Im assuming since the tickets are for numbered seats then vip is probably front row. but if there is a pit then theres no point in getting the vip tickets. Im also wondering the same thing for the TM Revolution concert. I have tickets for section b, but i still havent figured out whether or not theres a pit or "standing and dancing place". does anyone know?

I don't think there's standing/dancing spaces at the concert. I think VIP seats are just seats that's closer to the stage.

gotta love that phrase "i think"..... but thanks all the same. From the convention center floor plan it doesnt seem like there would be anywhere to stand/dance. Im just hoping people go crazy when they realize their actually seeing PLC and decide they dont like the seats and turn into a psycho mob of fans and rush the stage..........if that happens i should be able to get up front.
