Well, the current site uses PHP and CSS. We might get rid of the PHP if we get enough people who don't know it well. We also have three sites, one is for music, one is for the convention and one is the memories site, so the work can be split in different ways depending upon interests. The hardest part of the job is just staying on top of it. Most people like designing a site, but not maintaining it. It becomes difficult when certain tricks are used that some of the people maintaining the site don't understand. In the month before the convention, there are a lot of updates. Fortunately, the con is now at the end of summer instead of right in the middle of finals in May. Ideally, we'd like a team of about 4-5 to split up all the work to keep too much pressure off everyone. Hope this helps! Mike |

LAST EDITED ON Aug-01-05 AT 07:59 PM (PDT) >>"The hardest part of the job is just staying on top of it. Most people like designing a site, but not maintaining it." That's funny, it's the opposite for me. I love doing updates and stuff and keeping a site busy, but it takes me forever to get something off the ground. I am interested. I know CSS pretty well. I've got some bare-bones exposure to PHP, so I know the general gist of it... *hoping to take a course in PHP this coming fall to learn more* I also know some JavaScript and Perl, if that's applicable. You're welcome to drop me an e-mail or catch me over AIM if you want to discuss it more. I'm online a lot, and I check my e-mail very frequently. |

I have experience with html/css and jsp pages, and am maintaining a website written in php (http://www.hsc.org). The organization has a conference each year, so I also know how much work can be required. I think I can learn the php fairly quickly. (Designing the site is harder) Let me know if you still need someone. -Alice >We are searching for aspiring web designers who are interested in >designing and maintaining the different PMX websites/pages. > >Mike
