LAST EDITED ON Jun-06-04 AT 00:52 AM (PDT) http://www.planetexile.com/media.php?screenshotID=85 - Concert photos http://www.planetexile.com/_extra/the_pmx_stuff/ - Mostly photos from that wrestling match, quite blurry Saturday was my nightmare day for taking photos, as that's only 20% of what I took that I would keep. I'll probably get my friend to chip in his set, if they're any better, since his are only for personal use. Also, kudos to Super No. 1 for such excellent photos. _______________________________ Personal Guests wishlist: Orange Range (JPop group), Ryoko Shirashi (seiyu), Chiwa Saito (seiyu), Younha (KPop/JPop artist), Bolo Yeung (Bruce Lee's protege), Jinsei Shinzaki (pro wrestler) |

>re: Exclusion of Nami Tamaki pics. How come? I'm sure they're great >pictures? > Anytime you take pictures of celebrities, you have to be careful. If they're any good, those are the ones that most likely to be stolen and used to make a profit, even though I have some friends whose cosplay photos were stolen by anime magazines and used without their permission. I'm not making a dime from my photos and I just to it for the good of the community. >Actually, I was wondering what kind of setup you have for your camera >equipment. You take these great shots that are portrait quality with >the light you have? Would you mind sharing technical details? I'm currently using a Nikon D70, which is one of the low-end digital SLRs, but it's also one of the newest so the technology in it is pretty incredible. For most of the individual shots, I used a 50mm prime lens using an f-stop of 2.5-3.2. A lower f-stop will blur the background more, but you risk part of the subject being out of focus. Outdoors, I just used natural light and white balanced the camera appropriately. To get the blurred backgrounds, you really need an SLR or medium-format camera. You need a big lens with a wide aperture and a point & shoot camera can't do it because the lenses are too small. If you're really good, you can Photoshop the background blur using the gaussian blur technique, but it always looks fake and unnatural. For indoor photos, I have an SB-800 flash and I usually bounce the light off the wall or ceiling. For post-processing, I use PhotoImpact 8, usually just to brighten up the photo a little bit. Sometimes a simple automatic level adjustment is all it takes. If I need more adjustment, I'll use the fill-flash tool or tone-mapping tool. ___________ http://www.super-no1.com http://superno1.homestead.com |
